Space Shuttle Endeavour and Peter Landecker

These photos of me and the Space Shuttle Endeavour above were taken on September 28, 2012 at the United Airlines hangar at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) using my Nikon D40 camera. I was the only California Science Center (CSC) volunteer "guarding" it at this time. My "job" was to keep unauthorized people away from the Shuttle. I was "armed" with a cell phone to speed dial airport police. I took the additional photos below while on guard. Note the absence of other people. The Shuttle is mounted on the carrier/transporter that was to take it to CSC over city streets.

Finally, below is a photo I took of the Space Shuttle Endeavour landing for the last time on September 21, 2012. Note that the carrier NASA 747 has the wheels down. This aircraft had previously made several passes around the LAX area. I took this photo with a wide angle lens on my Nikon D40, and the aircraft did not quite fit into the frame. The noise was deafening.
