SUNDAY  PROGRAMS

August 4 - "STUPID WHITE MEN AND OTHER SORRY EXCUSES FOR THE STATE OF THE NATION".  Ted Doty will discuss this book by Michael Moore (#1 on the best selllers list).  WHY?  Ted will moderate.

August 11 - FIDDLING AROUND AND MORE  Come and hear Shetland fiddle music played by Brandon Edgar, a student of Bio-engineering at El Camino College.  He will speak about this folk music and play some of it.  He will be joined by Pam Perkins on the cello.  Beth Perkins will   moderate.

August 18 - AN ARTIFICIAL GOD.  Rich Johnson will instigate and moderate a discussion on the topic "Is there an artificial God?", first brought up by    Douglas Adams of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" fame.   The subject of "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance may also come up.  The moderator will be Richard Johnson.

August 25 – BUDDHISM.  Peter Landecker will present a video tape which will show parts of a lecture on Buddhism.  The lecture was given by a monk at the Buddhist University in Bangkok, where Peter visited earlier this year.  He will then lead a discussion on the meaning and philosophy of Buddhism.  Peter will moderate.

September 1 - HUMOR?!!!  Rich Johnson and Carol Simpson will do "Old Time Religion", postponed from the Annual Dinner.  Other attempts at humor will occur and your additions are desired and will be welcomed.  Richard Johnson will moderate.

September 8 - FANTASY FELLOWSHIP.  Come together to celebrate this fellowship and the facelift of Mathews’ Cottage.  Think of what your “dream fellowship” would be like.  Come and share:  what nourishes you?  What kind of programs inspire you?  What kind of activity helps you to connect?  Let’s look at ways we can make our fellowship become more meaningful to us.  Penny Hendricks will lead the program and moderate.
