***********CALENDAR OF UPCOMING EVENTS*************

April 17 - THE ANNUAL SBUF AUCTION on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.  This is our GALA FUNDRAISING event and in past years, this has been one of our most enjoyable gatherings.  If you missed it last year, you may not know how the bidding went for the garter belt.  Who ended up with it, anyway???  When you are trying to think of “good stuff” to offer, let your imagination inspire you to create a new service or idea.  Try to complete your obligations or make use of the purchased services from last year. Mark your calendar now, and save your stuff.  Let auctioneer Peter Landecker know (preferably in advance) of what goods or services you wish to offer. This year’s auction will be held at John and Carol Simpson’s home in Redondo Beach.   Bring finger food snacks to share.  Some beverages will be provided, but B.Y.O.B.  If you have a question, call.

April 18 - SBUF Board Meeting at Mathews Cottage after fellowship at approximately 12:30 p.m.

*************COMMUNICATION CORNER*******************

THE READING ROOM by Linda
New arrivals for the library: The Memory Bible by Gary Small, M.D. donated by Milt & Marian Holman, and Dude, Where's My Country? by Michael Moore donated by Bob Johnson. Two good books for your reading pleasure. And don't forget your magazines for the magazine swap.

Lee Aukerman has been moved from the hospital to Driftwood Convalescent Care facility.  Keep him in your thoughts, and Claire, too.

If anyone would like to contribute to PROJECT: NEEDS,  (This is the group that serves dinner to the hungry and homeless every Tuesday evening.)  Penny Hendricks is collecting checks made out to PROJECT:  NEEDS.  Checks received now will be matched with funds from the Alan Feinstein Foundation.  The group also supplies a food pantry at the church.  This is an important community effort sponsored by members of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church.  (That is our landlord for Mathew’s Cottage.)  Any questions?  Call Penny
