 people who watch things happen,

and people who don’t know anything happened.”

SUNDAY PROGRAMS

June 6 - FIVE TYPES OF DECISION MAKING.   Come learn about psychologist/philosopher William James’ suggested tools for making life’s major decisions.  Our own in-house philosopher Dick Radl will present this program and moderate.

June 13 - OF WHAT ARE WE CAPABLE.   Reflections on human behavior can be melancholy these days.  If the events of the 20th century, and now of the early 21st., show so much of the dark side of human capability, a crucial question arises:  what is required for the angels of our better nature to prevail?  Minister Emeritus Ernie Pipes will speak to us today.  Bob Johnson will moderate.

June 20 - POETRY TO SHARE.   Come to listen, to read, to share your favorite poems.  Beth Perkins will lead this morning.

June 27 - CHURCH AT LONG BEACH   (No meeting at Mathews Cottage).  This service will held at the Long Beach Convention Center, Hall C. at 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Rev. William Sinkford will lead a service to convey the Good News of Unitarian Universalism, a faith of open minds, loving hearts, and helping hands.  Worship will be open to all.  If you would like to join many of our members who are planning to attend, call and ask Les for directions and/or car pool. More information is available at http://www.uua.org/ga/sun.html.

July 4 - BACK FROM GA (General Assembly).   From June 24 to June 28 the Unitarian Universalists will hold the annual convention at Long Beach.  People from all over the country will gather for speakers, workshops, and discussions.  Many of our members will attend.  Today, they will share some highlights of their different experiences.  Carol Simpson will moderate.
