                                             SUNDAY PROGRAMS

March 4 - CROATIA AND SLOVENIA   a program by Lenore Snodey and Peter Landecker.  Being introduced to the very interesting culture, beauty and history of this former Yugoslovia region recovering from a civil war brings a new appreciation for peace.  A video and digital photos will illustrate the presentation based on a recent three week trip there.  Peter will moderate.

March 11 – LET’S TALK ABOUT IT   This is a chance to talk about whatever concerns you, or whatever interests you.  If you want to hear what someone else thinks, then bring up the subject and ask for input.  If you feel like ranting about something, we will listen.  Penny Hendricks will moderate. (Don’t forget daylight savings time:  spring ahead.)

March 18 – A SURVIVAL AGENDA FOR 2007   Ernie Pipes will present a program on the environmental crisis.  Ernie Pipes served as minister of the U.U. Church of Santa Monica.  Inspired by reading a book by Lester Brown, Ernie shares the ideas.  Bob Johnson will moderate this program.

March 25 – (no meeting at Mathews Cottage)  Please come to the SBUF AUCTION   The Auction is held for fellowship fun and to raise fellowship funds.  But more importantly, the auction is held to create social activities and encourage the sharing of talents and ourselves.  The auction will be held this year on Sunday, March 25, at 2:00 p.m.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.  More people always mean more fun and fellowship!!!  Begin to think now about any ideas you might have.  Please pass your ideas on to Penny or Peter Landecker.  The auction will be held in Manhattan Beach at the home of Peter and Lenore.  A brief General Meeting will be held.  Snack finger food and beverages will be provided.

April 1 – INDOCTRINATION, BALANCE, OR NEUTRALITY   Do our core beliefs bias our speech and our thinking even when we believe we are objective?  Jerry Parker is a longtime Unitarian and a member of Pacific Unitarian Church.

Your input is valuable!  Thank you for your help.

WE ARE GLAD YOU ASKED!!!

How do I become a member of the South Bay Unitarian Fellowship??  Membership is open to all persons 15 years of age or older who sign a membership card expressing agreement with the purpose of the Fellowship.  Members become eligible to vote and hold office three months after signing membership cards.  Members are expected to participate in SBUF activities and to provide a helping hand and financial support when needed.

HURRAH for the fellowship!!!  We have a new member:  Milt Holmen has been attending many Sunday mornings over the years as well as offering a variety of programs.  Last Sunday, March 4, Milt officially became our newest member.

UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SERVICE COMMITTEE

UUSC is the separate organization that ensures that UU values result in action.  We can advance economic justice.  We can defend civil liberties.  We can make environmental justice a reality.  We can ensure that the most vulnerable people are not denied their rights when disaster strikes. Together, we make a difference!  SBUF has been recognized for its support of UUSC.  In 2003, only 19% of the fellowship members gave financial support to the service committee.  In 2004, 2005 and 2006, 45%, 55% and 71% SBUF members are giving support to the work of the service committee, respectively. Many thanks to Peter Landecker for serving as our UUSC representative, reminding us to support this  valuable organization. To learn more about how this organization works and how your donation is being used, visit on line at www.uusc.org.
