                                             SUNDAY PROGRAMS

December  9 - THE SIXTH OF THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST PRINCIPLES AND PURPOSES   “We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and  promote:  The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all.’  Rich Johnson will lead the discussion of this 6th  principle.

December 16 - STEM CELL UPDATE    A look at the recent scientific breakthroughs in stem cell science and the status of California's $6 billion taxpayer-funded research project.  John Simpson director of the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights Stem Cell Oversight and Accountability Project, will present this program.  John will moderate.

 December 23 - MERRY MEMORIES, SONGS OF JOY, JINGLING BELLS, FA LA LA, ETC.   Come and share the season .  Penny Hendricks will moderate;  Carol Simpson will provide accompaniment.  Share a memory of holidays past.  What does Solstice mean to you?  Talk about your thoughts and feelings.  Pick your favorite music.  Munch on holiday goodies!

December 30 - BRING OUT THE ELEPHANTS   It’s time to party!  We are invited to the Bob Johnson and Linda Klein home to celebrate the holidays with a POTLUCK DINNER PARTY  and the “white elephant” gift exchange game.  Gather at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and then let the eating begin.  To play the game, bring a wrapped “white elephant” gift--something you want to get rid of --that may or may not be desired by someone else. 

     Please call Linda at and let her know you are coming and what kind of dish you would like to bring.    (NO MEETING AT MATHEWS COTTAGE TODAY)

 

January 6 - OLD YEAR, NEW YEAR, RED YEAR, BLUE YEAR   Come and share your thoughts about change.  What will 2008 bring?  What’s next?  What are your feelings and thoughts about the future?  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

       *****ATTENTION: For Openers and Refreshment persons:  ***** 

OPENERS arrive at 10:30 a.m., unlock doors, cabinet, put out sign, start water, put on tablecloth, set up cups, coffee, etc. for the refreshments.  Please display the fellowship candle on the circular table.

REFRESHMENTS need to arrive by 11:00 a.m.  Please arrange a trade if you cannot attend or clean up on the day assigned.  When you bring refreshments, it is your turn to be responsible for the clean up of the entire refreshment table including the coffee water and supplies.  If you need help, just ask.  By the way, thank you very much!!!

WE ARE GLAD YOU ASKED!!!

How do I become a member of the South Bay Unitarian Fellowship??  Membership is open to all persons 15 years of age or older who sign a membership card expressing agreement with the purpose of the Fellowship.  Members become eligible to vote and hold office three months after signing membership cards.  Members are expected to participate in SBUF activities and to provide a helping hand and financial support when needed.
