“Prejudices, it is well known, are most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never  been loosened or fertilized by education; they grow there, firm as weeds among rocks.”   Charlotte Bronte

                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

June 7 – AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES “PRO-LIFE”    This program takes a look at what is going on in the world of women and “pro choice” and free speech.  As we grow older and away from some needs, we lose track of the choices women really have.  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

June 14 – U-U HUUMOR JUUST FOR LAUUGHS    This is the day for you to share your favortite Unitarian Universalism jokes—no matter how corny, how silly, or how fresh.  It’s good medicine not to take ourselves too seriously.  Thom Kilpatrick will lead the program –the rest is up to you.  Come and enjoy!

June 21 -  IT’S NEVER TOO LATE    It is Father's Day and Reverend Emeritus Ernie Pipes presents this program: "For a Dad whose children are in their 40’s or 50's, it's a time for looking back, naming the regrets, traveling the years and coming to varying levels of resolution.”  Ernie is one of our long-time friends and a popular speaker.  He was minister at the U.U. Church of Santa Monica until he retired and became available to us.

June 28  -  GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING    Come,  share brunch, celebrate the morning and discuss any concern you have.  We will vote on the new board for July 2009 to June 2010. Current candidates are Peter Landecker, John Simpson, Les Berg, Beth Perkins, Claire Aukerman, Thom Kilpatrick and Penny Hendricks. If you want to join the board, call Penny. Everybody is especially invited to this meeting.
