                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

November 7 –  THREE WISHES    If you were granted 3 wishes (only 3???), what would you wish for?   You can think---in the world?,  in society?,  in your personal life?  This requires a possible shift to some “magical” thinking.    Come to share your thoughts and learn something about the person sitting next to you.  Penny Hendricks will lead the discussion.  (Don’t forget to change your clocks.)

November 14 – THE SIDE AFFECTS OF NOVEMBER 2    John Simpson will lead the discussion and give us a chance to voice our concerns.  Is there an “up” side to this election and the changes made?  John Simpson will moderate.

November 21 A DOOR I CAN OPEN    These are some reflections on a little noticed shift in consciousness that can render the upcoming holiday more real.  The Reverend Emeritus Ernie Pipes will present this program today.  Rev. Pipes served as minister of the UU Church of Santa Monica.  Thom Kilpatrick will moderate.

November 25 – HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING DAY CELEBRATION

November 28   THERE WILL BE NO MEETING AT MATHEWS COTTAGE TODAY.

December 5JERRY PARKER will share a topic and inspire our discussion.  The topic will be announced in the December newsletter.

January 2HOLIDAY PARTY at the Johnson-Klein home.  Mark your calendars for a festive time, starting at 4:00 p.m. It's time for the annual Fellowship and friends Holiday Party and Potluck. Bring a wrapped 'white elephant' (see below) for the gift game to follow dinner (optional). Please RSVP and let Linda and Bob know what pot you are bringing. So bring your good cheer, your white elephant, and your pot for an evening of fun and good eats. According to Webster’s Dictionary: WHITE ELEPHANT

1. An abnormally whitish or pale elephant, usually found in Thailand; an albino elephant.

2. A possession entailing great expense out of proportion to its usefulness or value to the owner.

3. A possession unwanted by the owner but difficult to dispose of. (For this party, please refer to # 3.)
