"If you don’t like the way the world is, you change it.

You have an obligation to change it.

You just do it one step at a time”.

Marian Wright Edelman

                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

December 5WHO CAUSES ECONOMIC RECESSIONS?     Jerry Parker brings this program.  This is a dialogue between an author from the Hoover Institute who gives evidence they are natural events that the Democrats prolong and make worse, and a reader who presents opposing data which shows Republican actions bring them about and retard recovery.  Chuck Hendricks and Jerry Parker will present the two sides of this argument.  John Simpson will moderate.

December 12 "I AM ANOTHER YOURSELF”     Our friend and speaker Simone Maudhui shares some thoughts about "In Lak'ech",  the greeting from the Mayan Wisdom.  Simone’s passion is to expose the Universal Oneness underlying the diversity of forms in our world.  She works to build a synthesis among the religions, as well as between psychology and spirituality, and between science and religion.  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

December 19CAROLING WITH CAROL     Come celebrate the season with holiday music and remembrances of Christmases past.  Carol Simpson will play keyboard accompaniment for your favorite seasonal songs.  Be prepared to share some of your favorite holiday memories.

      Carol Simpson will moderate.

December 26THE VALUE OF GRATITUDE    How do you view the experiences of your life?  Do you kvetch more than appreciate?  When we actually experience gratitude we activate the part of the brain that floods the body with feel-good hormones.  Penny Hendricks will present this simple way to give a positive tweak to our attitude.  Penny will moderate.

January 2HOLIDAY PARTY at the Johnson-Klein home.  Mark your calendars for a festive time, starting at 4:00 p.m. It's time for the annual Fellowship and friends Holiday Party and Potluck. Bring a wrapped 'white elephant' (see below) for the gift game to follow dinner (optional). Please RSVP and let Linda and Bob know what pot you are bringing. So bring your good cheer, your white elephant, and your pot for an evening of fun and good eats. According to Webster’s Dictionary: WHITE ELEPHANT

1. An abnormally whitish or pale elephant, usually found in Thailand; an albino elephant.

2. A possession entailing great expense out of proportion to its usefulness or value to the owner.

3. A possession unwanted by the owner but difficult to dispose of. (For this party, please refer to # 3.)
