                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

May 1 -  MAY DAY:  CELEBRATING NATURE  May Day is a time for celebrating the fertility of the land and love.  We will honor the day by celebrating the lives of those who spoke for Nature and gave shape to the American environmental movement.  Our speaker is Rev. Marguerite Lovett.  Reverend Lovett is a fine speaker who served as minister of the Long Beach Unitarian Church for more that 18 years. Come and enjoy. Claire Aukerman will moderate.

May 8LIFE’S CLOSE CALLS   by Peter Landecker. Have you had any life threatening close calls?  Perhaps it involved autos or airplanes or a sport or a medical diagnosis that could have been worse. Perhaps an animal could have attacked you or had a close call fall. Perhaps a bullet, bomb or falling rock just missed you.  Any kind of near death or life changing  experiences could have made you think about life in a different way. Please come and share.  Peter will lead the discussion.  Bob Johnson will moderate.

May 15   BEING UNITARIAN—WHAT IS THE APPEAL?    We have learned that there are Seven Principles and Promises which are generally agreed on  by our membership as valued and worth our support.  As you read through the seven principles, is there one that stands out from the rest with special meaning for you?  Would you like to add a new and different idea to this list?  Penny Hendricks will lead this program.

May 22   JUDAISM, LOOKING WITHIN    Speaker Dee Masters returns to shed light on the life of a Jewish family and other aspects of customs and religious practices. Bring your ideas and questions.   Let's talk some more.  As a Unitarian, Dee enjoys exploring various religions and he is generous about sharing some of what he learns.  Dee Masters currently attends Pacific Unitarian Church.  John Simpson will moderate.

May 29 -  TAKE SOME TIME TO REMEMBER.

                (no meeting at Mathews Cottage)
