                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

July 1 – WHEN IN THE COURSE OF HUMAN EVENTS  Think of the participating men (and women) who gathered to move forward and write the Declaration of Independence.  If you could invite one or two of them to dinner, who would you most like to share the evening with and why?  Penny Hendricks will lead this program.

July 8   THE ACA STANDS!   Universal health insurance for the US is now a matter of implementation.   Our guest presenter will provide an overview of the Affordable Care Act law’s key components and lead a discussion on how they are supposed to work within the three domains of health policy: access, quality and cost.  Questions are welcome.  This bill is 2000 legalese pages or about the same as Atlas Shrugged.  Some laws are in place, the biggest is to be implemented in 2014.  Les Berg will moderate.

July 15 – GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING   This is an annual meeting required by our by-laws.  We will vote for a new board (would you like to be a board member?).  We will also look at donations to organizations that we might wish to support as a fellowship.  Plan to attend if you can.  This will also be a chance to offer input and hear what others think.

July 22 -  WHO IS DENNIS KUCINICH?  His name is familiar to many of us.  As a Congressman from Ohio, he was a voice in the political arena for the values UUs cherish:  peace, justice, and opportunity for all who seek to better their life in America.  How much do we know of him as a man and of his personal and political history?  Lenore Snodey will present interesting facts about his philosophy and life experiences and his goals as a private citizen now.  Peter Landecker will moderate.

July 29 – ERNIE PIPES RETURNS   Reverend Emeritus Ernie Pipes will return to us with more food for thought and discussion.  His topic will be announced later. Bob Johnson will moderate
