                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

November 4 – SHARING YOUR CONCERNS  (PERSONAL, POLITICAL, OR  OTHERWISE)   Sometimes sharing what is on your mind or in your heart, can make a difference in how you see a situation.  Come to a place where you can agree to disagree.

November 11 – IN SPITE OF TIME AND DEATH    It is said that the veil between this world and the next gets very thin at this time of year. Rev. Theresa Masters, an experienced hospice chaplain and grief counselor, will lead us in a celebration of Samhain, Halloween, Dia de los Muertos, and the ongoing connections we have with those who have gone before. Please bring a small photo or object to place on the altar in memory of a deceased loved one.  Rev. Theresa Masters is an ordained Interfaith minister.  She is a chapel minister at the Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes.  Rev. Theresa and husband Dee and have two adult daughters and one grandson and have been members of Pacific Unitarian Church for 32 years.  Carol Simpson will moderate.

NOVEMBER 18 - THE VALUE OF GRATITUDE    How do you view the experiences of your life?  Do you kvetch more than appreciate?  When we actually express gratitude, we activate the part of the brain that floods the body with feel-good hormones.  Penny Hendricks presents this simple way to give a positive tweak to our attitude.  When we express gratitude, there is positive reinforcement within both parties.  Our souls are nourished by a little attitude adjustment.  Penny will lead the program.

NOVEMBER 25 – EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT TORTOISES (But didn’t know who to ask.)   Come and ask Peter Landecker.  Some years ago a fellowship friend gave Peter some tortoises and nature took its course. http://www.lafn.org/~bf684/PDF/TinyTortoises.pdf
