SUNDAY
PROGRAMS
May 5– THE END
OF FAITH (continued) On February 17 our speaker, Bill Blake
shared a CD which played Sam Harris reading the 7th chapter of Harris’s book,
“The End of Faith.” We enjoyed a vigorous discussion. We invited
Bill to return. This Sunday we will read some more of the book together
and have a chance for more discussion. In this chapter Sam Harris offers
an alternative to traditional religions that require faith in that which can’t
be demonstrated. John Simpson will moderate.
May 12 – WHAT
WE OWE TO OUR MOTHERS Come and share your experience of your
Mother and what you learned from her. Les Berg will lead this program.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
May 19 –
GETTING RID OF STRESS This will be a taped presentation of
Deepak Chopra about becoming healthier by getting rid of physical, emotional,
and mental stress. Penny Hendricks will present a tape from a Dr. Oz show
which featured Deepak Chopra and his ideas for a more stress-free life.
Penny will moderate.
May 26 – REMEMBERING THOSE WE HAVE LOVED I never liked Memorial Day because I was reminded of war and of loss. Let us share stories and memories of others and honor a life that was important to us. Penny Hendricks will lead.
