                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

August 4 – BRUNCH AND GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING   Please come and have some brunch and then talk about Fellowship. Once a year we are supposed to choose a Board of Directors to run the fellowship.  There are a number of “jobs” that need to be done that help to keep the SBUF functioning.  Some of the jobs require a vote of the membership.  We also donate some of the money collected at fellowship to help other organizations.  If you know of a worthwhile cause that you would like to suggest for a donation from the fellowship, tell us about it.  John Simpson will report on where our treasury currently stands.  Les Berg had been serving as secretary for several years.  At this time we need a new secretary.  If you have any concern this will be a good time to bring it up.  Please come; we need your input. FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED.

August 11 – REVERSING AGING FROM THE INSIDE OUT   This program shares a tape from the Dr. Oz show which explains how changing your life style make dramatic changes in your health in many ways.  The expert Dr. Dean Ornish shares what this is about and some of the measurable changes such as blood pressure, cholesterol and more.  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

August 18 – VISUAL JOURNEY      Temple Grandin, professor, consultant to the livestock industry, and autistic activist has an inspiring life story.  Portions of a film about her will be shown, and will provide ample material for discussion.  Moderator:  Lorna McClellan

August 25 -  SPIRIT OF LIFE:  SINGING FROM THE SOUL:     Rev. Teri Masters will guide us through singing lessons that are also life lessons. Let's call in the Spirit of Life and make some joy!  Rev. Teri Masters is an Interfaith minister and an Officiating Minister at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes. She is a graduate of The Chaplaincy Institute in Berkeley, CA. A certified clinical chaplain, she is an experienced hospice chaplain and a Pastoral Counselor, specializing in grief and loss, at Good Samaritan Counseling Center in San Pedro. She will sing at the drop of a hat and is a member of Vox Femina Los Angeles, one of the country’s premiere women’s choruses. Rev. Teri and husband Dee have two adult daughters and one grandson.  Carol Simpson will moderate.
