                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

November 3 - DON’T LET NEGATIVITY DRIVE YOUR LIFE-CAR---PLACE IT IN THE BACK SEAT    Neurological science informs us that negative thoughts and emotions are mostly ingrained in our nervous systems by age three or four.   Research also proves that we can dump sour thoughts and feelings into life’s car’s back seat with a friendly community, service to others, and a useful toolkit of meditations.      Our speaker today is Bill Blake.  Bill returns with a new presentation.  John Simpson will moderate.

November 10 - COMMUNITIES FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT    Speaker Alicia Rivera will explain what the current issues are.  CBE is advocating for various environmental justice bills, including Senate Bill 605.  She will explain some of the many problems affecting lives in our community.  Bob Johnson will be Moderator.

November 17 – WHAT I KNOW TO BE TRUE    Come and share something that you know to be true --an idea, an experience, a personal lesson, something that you read or that you wrote---.  Perhaps there is something that you hold dear to your heart that has special meaning and value for you.  Penny will lead the program of sharing.

November 24 – EXILE, NOSTALGIA, AND HOMECOMING     The Reverend Emeritus Ernie Pipes will present this topic and lead our discussion.  Come to hear what this is about.

December 1 – CUBA:  MORTAL ENEMY OR FAMILY QUARREL?    Why is Cuba the only country in the world where you can be prosecuted for visiting without a special visa from the state department?  Why does the U.S. maintain a near state of war with a country we have never been formally at war with or that US forces have never engaged except for a skirmish in Grenada?  What are the current prospects for change in the near future?  Is Fidel immortal?  Our speaker today is Joseph Marcin.  We met Joe and his wife Mary in 2012.  What do you think about Cuba?
