                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

January 5 – INDONESIA AND SINGAPORE ---Peter Landecker went to two diving resorts near Manado, Sulawesi, Indonesia and stopped at Singapore on the way home during his 23 day trip. He will relate and illustrate his underwater and above water adventures. Trip highlights on his 43 dives included "muck diving" in the Lembeh Straits where weird critters such as the hairy frogfish were observed. On land, he visited a volcano, hot springs, and the largest Aquarium in the world. Penny Hendricks will moderate

January 12 – WHITE ELEPHANT PARTY AND POTLUCK  Please join us on Sunday, January 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the Klein/Johnson residence in El Segundo.  Bring a wrapped “white elephant” for the gift game to follow dinner (optional).  Call Bob or Linda to let them know what food you will bring.

January 19 – To Be Announced

January 26 – WHAT IS THE TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP (TPP) and Why You Should Care About It.  The TPP is a so-called trade agreement and if you haven’t heard of it, that’s because trade representatives from 11 countries along with 600 U.S. corporate lobbyists are busy crafting their attack on most of us in secret. Common goal? Maximizing their profits. Projected results? Bad for our lives, our jobs, our health, and our environment. Carol Simpson will lead this discussion.

February 2 – UNIVERSALISM:  PAST, PRESENT, AND POWERFUL  The speaker this morning is Kalen Fristad.  Kalen has served as a United Methodist minister for more than 37 years.
