                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

August 3 - MARRIED TO MUSIC   For eleven years Lorna McClellan shared life and music with her first husband.  She will "talk story" about those times, and sing some of the songs which they performed as a couple.

August 10 –   WHO ATE CALIFORNIA?   Most of us have forgotten what Californians perpetrated on themselves 36 years ago, but reality has been pursuing us like a hungry bear ever since – from then, to, well, this very week.  You won’t want to miss another thrilling episode in the unfolding tale of the self-devouring omnivore loose in our midst.  Bob Johnson will moderate.  Our speaker, Rev. Jim Conn was the founding minister of the Church in Ocean Park and served on the Santa Monica City Council and as the Mayor of Santa Monica.

August 17 –ON YOUR MIND OR IN THE NEWS    Have you read, seen or heard something recently that concerns you, or that you want to explore further?  John and Carol Simpson will moderate this discussion of current events.

August 24 –  INSPIRATION AND ENLIGHTENMENT   No one is an island, a meditation on isolation and community. Rev. Teri Masters

August 31 – LABOR DAY WEEKEND  (No meeting at Mathews Cottage.)  Have a pleasant holiday!

September 7 – GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING  to begin the fiscal year -- July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.  Everyone come and use the opportunity to express your opinion.  We will be the speakers.
