August 6 – AN INTERVIEW WITH VICE PRESIDENT AND ENVIRONMENTALIST AL GORE.  This interview was recorded on Friday evening, August 4, 2017.  Penny and Chuck are moderating.

 

August 13 –THE HUNDRED YEAR WALTZ.   The last DVD in The Long Strange Trip discusses the courtship and joining of the Unitarians and Universalists and suggests where we go from here.  Come watch and add your comments to this story.  Bob Johnson will moderate this morning.

 

August 20 – RUSSIAN REVOLUTIONTHE IMPACT AND LEGACY.

       Joe Marcin will be the speaker this morning.  Joe’s wealth of knowledge seems limitless.  Come and expand your knowledge.

 

August 27 – LaDainian Thomlinson shares his truth and story of RACISM. Penny brings this tape that allows us to look into a black life that has mattered. All lives matter. How can we not understand how each life matters?

 *****ATTENTION: For Openers and Refreshment persons:  *********************

OPENERS arrive at 10:30, unlock doors, cabinet, put out signs, put on tablecloths, make the coffee, start water, set up cups, coffee, etc. for the refreshments.  Please display the fellowship candle on the circular table.  Place the Guest Book, name tags, and offering basket on the long table.

REFRESHMENTS need to arrive by 11:00 a.m.  Please arrange a trade if you cannot attend or clean up on the day assigned.  When you bring refreshments, it is your turn to be responsible for the clean up of the entire refreshment table including the coffee, water, tablecloths and supplies.  If you need help, just ask.

If you cannot bring refreshments on the date listed in the newsletter, you may call someone and trade with them for another date that will be more convenient for you.

How do I become a member of the South Bay Unitarian Fellowship?  Membership is open to all persons 15 years of age or older who sign a membership card expressing agreement with the purpose of the Fellowship.  Members become eligible to vote and hold office three months after signing membership cards.  Members are expected to participate in SBUF activities and to provide a helping hand and financial support when needed and are able to do so.  

 

SBUF Programs   If there is a particular topic you would like to see presented on a Sunday morning, or an organization you want to know more about, or a good book you would like to share, or any other ideas for Sunday morning programs, please call Penny Hendricks. Your input is valuable!  Thank you for your help.
