November 2019 Newsletter

“It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth ---and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up---that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.”    Elisabeth Kubler Ross

                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

November 3 –  Getting to “Best for All” Universal Healthcare   Part 1  Our guest speaker will show and discuss why the US is the sickest country, has the highest healthcare cost with the poorest outcomes of all rich countries, and how “the B.I.Gs* have been able to morph healthcare into BIG BUSINESS with rigged capitalism and predatory behaviors. We will discuss what the Candidates for President are saying.      (*Bullies Invested in Government)

NOTE:  There are over 100 references in small blue print along with the information throughout Part 1 and 2.  They can be accessed from the PDF with one click.  If you would like the PDF just give your e-mail address to the speaker.  Spread the word that we need the “Best for All” healthcare.

November 10 –  Getting to “Best for All” Universal Healthcare   Part 2 This discussion will be how to make the changes that are critical to a healthy universal healthcare system.  The First: establish a Gov.org, Science and Value based Decision Making Entity with experts from all involved to make the rules that Gov.org mandates. ie prices, basic non-profit services, what insurers do.  And as in all rich countries, the US would have both public and private pay with a uniform “floor” of coverage and standard benefits for all.  This allows dignity for those who need subsidies and for profit choices, such as a private room.

November 17 – 12 months to Election: Can we save our Nation and our souls.  A presentation and discussion led by UU Rev. Jon Dobrer, a Starr King and Theological Union graduate, served the UU Church in Fullerton from 1993-2014.  Jon continues teaching, doing columns for newsgroups, newspapers and writing about our world.  We welcome Jon again.  Penny will moderate.

November 24 –  BODY IMAGE   a selection from the “The Philosophy of Consciousness” DVD series.  Michael Bastone is providing us with the DVD.
