February 8. - AUCTION FUN.  The annual fellowship auction will be held at John and Carol Simpson’s home in Redondo Beach.  The auction is the most fun of any fund raiser, but it is more fun with more people and more auction items.  It is a chance to snag a group dinner, a handyman’s service, a dessert, a haircut, computer lessons, or something you didn’t even know you needed.  Can you offer any object, service, or whatever for purchase by the highest bidder????  TIME:  1:30 p.m.  R.S.V.P.  Bring finger-food to share.  Beverages will be provided.  Peter would appreciate it if you would let him know what auction goods or services you plan to offer, and the minimum required bid (if any).                          PRESIDENT'S  CORNER - January 2003

Happy New Year to all of our members and friends!  We expect 2003 will be a good year for the Fellowship.  It will be if we all work to make it so.

Thanks to all of you who contributed their talents and money to the Fellowship during the past year.  Also, thanks are given to those of you who made special contributions in December.  We now have funds available to pay for our programs during the next few months.

We are continuing to invite ministers to speak to us monthly.  Two women ministers will speak to us in January.  Please make a special effort to attend those Sundays.  We are also beginning a “Building Your Own Theology” series of programs this month.  These programs will continue on the third Sunday of each month.  Attending these programs can provide a personal spiritual benefit

 From SBUF President, Les Berg

LENDING LIBRARY  A lending library for SBUF was launched.  Marilyn Doty is the organizer and will troubleshoot as needed.  On the last Sunday of October, there appeared a rolling library cart with books currently gleaned from members’ own libraries.  In the back of each book is a card where the name and date will be written, and placed in the wooden box on the cart.  When returning a book, cross off name and date and place in the envelope at the back.

If you wish to offer your books for loaning, please stamp or write you name inside the front.  The envelope and rotating card will be handled by Marilyn.  Please take care of the borrowed books and return them for others to enjoy.

Claire Aukerman had cataract surgery on January 8.  Hope all is well with you, Claire.
