                                             SUNDAY PROGRAMS

January 6 - OLD YEAR, NEW YEAR, RED YEAR, BLUE YEAR   Come and share your thoughts about change.  What will 2008 bring?  What’s next?  What are your feelings and thoughts about the future?  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

January 13 – RESIST NOT EVIL   (Matthew 5:39)  This unexpected and often overlooked saying of Jesus in Matthew's Sermon on the Mount is actually quite radical.  What is the nature of "evil"?  of "good"?  ......Why do "The Nature of the Soul" teachings qualify it as "so-called" evil?  In a Universe ruled by Oneness, what is the place of "evil"?   How do we "Resist Not Evil" and Love at the same time?  Simone Maud’hui will present this topic.  "Resist not Evil" is one of the highest truths of humanity" from Eckhart Tolle.  From Hamlet:  “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so".  What do you think?  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

January 20 - GHANA!    Peter Landecker recently visited Ghana (formerly Gold Coast) in Western Africa for three weeks with the Friendship Force of Los Angeles (http://ff-la.org).  He lived in four different homes, as well as stayed in Mole National Park.  He will share some of his experiences with the warm and generous people, as well as some of the things he learned about the culture, history, living conditions and wildlife. Peter personally talked with the President of Ghana as well as many Chiefs.  He will show a video as well as digital images he made.  Bob Johnson will moderate.

January 27 - A FAITH EXPANSIVE    As we head into a new year complete with a presidential election, Rev. John Morehouse begins a five part series exploring what it means to be liberal in times such as these.  Whether you are new to the Fellowship or wondering what Unitarianism is all about, this is for you.  Each month Rev. John will explore one of what James Luther Adams called the "Five Smooth Stones of Liberalism.  Rev. John Morehouse is currently full time minister of Pacific Unitarian Church in Palos Verdes.
