“Prejudices, it is well known, are most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilized by education; they grow there, firm as weeds among rocks.”   Charlotte Bronte

                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

May 3 – WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE FIRST 100 DAYS?  Are you disappointed, surprised, angry, frustrated, still hopeful, loving it?  Come and talk about what is going on that raises your ire or brings you joy.  Penny Hendricks will moderate but you provide the discussion.

May 10 – BALLOT FOR THE BUDGET  Bring your ballot.  John Simpson will lead us as we look at Education Lottery modernization, Children Services, Mental Health funding, etc.  John Simpson will be moderator.  We vote on May 19.

May 17 - FANTASTIC ADVENTURE IN ASIA!  Peter Landecker just returned from a once-in-lifetime super adventure starting in Malaysia followed by living 15 days on a Scuba boat transiting and diving from Thailand to Indonesia.  He saw some very interesting underwater sites followed by an 8 day jungle adventure trek in Sumatra.  He saw many orangutans, rode an elephant alone and bareback, and saw other interesting critters. He also climbed up an active volcano, as well as stayed by the side of large Lake Toba which was formed by a huge eruption and caused the last ice age 75 million years ago.  They do things very differently over there. Peter will relate his strenuous adventures as well show pictures he took to document this trip.  Les Berg will moderate.

May 25 – MEMORIAL DAY WEEK END  Fantastic holiday pot-luck gathering starting at 3 p.m. at the home of Linda and Bob. RSVP to them and let them know you plan to attend. This yummy, socializing event is on Monday and takes the place of the usual Sunday morning gathering.

May 31 - SCIENCE VS RELIGION    (Don’t assume you know what I’ll say.)  Jon Dobrer is the full time minister at the Fullerton Unitarian Church.  Jon teaches at the University of Judaism.  Several years ago Reverend Jon Dobrer was highly praised as the Theme Speaker for PSWIRL .

      Bob Johnson will moderate.
