July 7 WHAT
ON EARTH IS THE ACA? Have you been reading and hearing
about the Affordable
Care Act (ACA) recently? At best the information presented in the
media is confusing and conflicting. It has been very politicized and is
quite controversial. So exactly what is it and how will it affect each of
us? Join Ronda Thomas, MA, Client Resource Specialist at Beach
Cities Health District in a discussion about the legislation. Learn how
the State of California is implementing it, how it will impact medical care
locally, and some of the other issues surrounding the ACA. Carol Simpson
will moderate.
July 14 -
"WHO ARE WE AND HOW DID WE GET THIS WAY" Human beings are
intrinsically imperfectible - and fortunately so. In a constantly changing
world we need the flexibility that only imperfection provides. Our
"salvation" is pitiless self-discovery. One of our very favorite
speakers, Reverend Emeritus Ernie Pipes will share his thoughts on the
subject. Bob Johnson will moderate.
July 21
BEAUTIFUL SOUTHWEST UTAH by Peter Landecker and Lenore Snodey.
Gorgeous images of Bryce and Zion
National Parks and nearby areas in Utah and southeast Nevada will be
displayed. The history, culture and wildlife of
this area will also be discussed. Penny Hendricks will be the moderator.
