October 7 – BILL MAHER ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE HISTORIAN DORIS
KEARNS GOODWIN about where current President is compared to other bad
Presidents. Also, a clip from Robert Kennedy Jr.

October 14 – BILL MAHER INTERVIEWS OMAROSA and has a panel discussion
with political correspondent Steve Kornacki; academic Eddie Glaude Jr.; political
commentator Reihan Salam; and author Rebecca Traister.

October 21 – RESPECTING OTHERS AND RESPECTING OURSELVES.   UU Rev.
Jon Dobrer is the speaker today. Rev. Dobrer, a Starr King and Theological Union
graduate, served the UU Church in Fullerton from 1993-2014 retiring in June after
45 years in the ministry. Jon continues teaching, doing columns for newsgroups,
newspapers and writing about our world. We welcome Jon again.
Penny will moderate.

October 28 – John Simpson leads as we look at the Propositions.   

Bring your Ballot and your pen or pencil.  Also, bring any information you want to contribute.





November 4 – CARVING UP THANKSGIVING.
   Our speaker today is UU Rev. Steve

   *****ATTENTION: For Openers and Refreshment persons:  *********************

OPENERS arrive at 10:30 a.m., unlock doors, cabinet, put out signs, put on tablecloths, make the coffee, start water, set up cups, coffee, etc. for the refreshments.  Please display the fellowship candle on the circular table.  Place the Guest Book, name tags, and offering basket on the long table.

REFRESHMENTS need to arrive by 11:00 a.m.  Please arrange a trade if you cannot attend or clean up on the day assigned.  When you bring refreshments, it is your turn to be responsible for the clean up of the entire refreshment table including the coffee, water, tablecloths and supplies.  If you need help, just ask.

If you cannot bring refreshments on the date listed in the newsletter, you may call someone and trade with them for another date that will be more convenient for you.

November 3, 2018  Sharing things we remember about Thom Kilpatrick at St. Pauls United Methodist Church at 10:45 am.

From UUA:  We covenant to affirm and promise a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. A goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all.

How do I become a member of the South Bay Unitarian Fellowship?  Membership is open to all persons 15 years of age or older who sign a membership card expressing agreement with the purpose of the Fellowship.  Members become eligible to vote and hold office three months after signing membership cards.  Members are expected to participate in SBUF activities and to provide a helping hand and financial support when needed and are able to do so.  

 

SBUF Programs   If there is a particular topic you would like to see presented on a Sunday morning, or an organization you want to know more about, or a good book you would like to share, or any other ideas for Sunday morning programs, please call Penny Hendricks. Your input is valuable!  Thank you for your help.
